On September 24, 2025, students from EHS’ service clubs (NHS, Key Club, and Rotary Interact) had the unique opportunity of taking part in a major event combating food insecurity.
Partnering with Rise Against Hunger and Cross Community Inc., nearly 80 student volunteers gathered at the Cure Insurance Arena to help prepare and package over 100,000 meals for underserved communities around the world! Working in teams, students collaborated with each other to assemble meal bags filled with rice, grains, essential vitamins, and dried vegetables. They also helped measure and seal each of the bags to ensure their quality before boxing them for shipment.
Through this event, students learned about the importance of giving back to the community as well as the benefits of collaboration and teamwork in achieving a common goal! Their efforts not only helped provide vital nutrients to families in need but also strengthened student leadership and commitment to community service.
Students interested in making a difference in their community are called to join EHS’ Service Clubs: National Honor Society (NHS), Key Club, and Rotary Interact Club! These clubs offer many different community service opportunities that allow students to collaborate with new people while also making an impact on society! Through service and teamwork, EHS students continue to prove that their efforts create lasting change, both locally and globally.
