The upcoming widely known fashion event is on its way here for spring! Originated in 1984 to fuse together art, fashion, and culture. Celebrities who we deem as humble. As close to the common person as you can be considering they’re attending the Met Gala.
Even in its raw beginning the Met Gala is always promoted to higher class. Over time we recognize the eye moving pieces worn by the attendees. Not all but most have a gorgeous meaning behind them, and not all but most of the designers are who give them meaning.
The well known designers and the honored attendees, which I suppose they are well known, do not give much honor to the original concept. Barely any room has been made for upcoming designers. If anything, repetition is the most honored of all.

Although in 1984 the then celebrities paid their fair share of fifty dollars. For the convenient price of fifty thousand dollars you can pay to attend the Met Gala. You can pay this amount after being selected by Anna Wintour, herself the longtime editor in chief at Vogue, and apparently the line is quite the wait even for A-list celebrities. Live your life as you wait for your invite is what I suggest.
Although not all pay for their ticket, some designers purchase whole tables which range around three hundred thousand dollars for all the people modeling their designs. Those lucky enough to not pay a dime and model let alone lucky enough to be selected by Anna to attend.
The Met Gala consists of the rich getting richer and putting it on for display and hiding behind the ultimate word FUNDRAISER. It was once an honor to be able to walk the carpet and show off the craftsmanship. Now it’s just a shame how entitled they are and how gullible we as an audience are.
