Mortal Kombat is a game known for its gory and violent game play but is still praised by many fans in the world. Mortal Kombat is up there with Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros in the top fighting game series. When I was younger (for some reason) my cousins and I were allowed to play this game. Our first Mortal Kombat game played was Mortal Kombat X.
While playing I have grown to have my favorite character and that is Sub-Zero because he is the GOAT in my opinion. Now with some context out of the way its time for my review of Mortal Kombat 1.
Now this story begins with the events of MK11 with Raiden giving Liu Kang all of his power which made Liu Kang so powerful that he was even more powerful than the elder gods. With this power Liu Kang reset the whole universe so people including villains can have a new and better chance in the world. But Liu Kang has soon realized that someone has interfered with the timeline that caused the character Shang Tsung to be a villain again.
Now it’s time to talk about the game play. If you are someone who loves fighting games you know you would expect the casual 2D style layout and if you played any MK games you expect the games to have a very interactive background which they still kept that same formula.
Also when you chose your character they added this thing called Kameo fighters that can help you out during fighting and parrying attacks. With this the main roster has most of the characters from the series with some remastered designs and story behind them. If you have seen the DLC it looks amazing- with characters like Omni-Man,Homelander and Peacemaker from other popular series.
Also the many combos in the game are interesting and amazing and show how Mortal Kombat is known for its extremely violent moves. Overall this game was very enjoyable to play and especially online since you can fight many players around the world. In my opinion I give Mortal Kombat 1 a 8/10 and highly recommend you try it out if you can.I am very excited for what this new reboot will lead up to.
