It was another year of Christmas and as you may assume many children and teens would most likely ask for video games and I was one of them.
I was one of many people who asked for a Ps5 so I could play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 since I have always been a big Spider-Man fan.
Now in the game its been one year since the events of Spider-Man Miles Morales where we see a cut scene with Harry Osborn being put in a tank which is supposed to cure his illness.Then we get a scene into the future where Peter is a teacher and is about to teach his first lesson until Sandman attacks,this leads to Peter and Miles swinging to where Sandman is and they show you how to play the game.
With this game you are able to switch between the Spider-Men and they have special moves that you can upgrade with the skill tree using skill points. The more skill points you acquire will allow you to max out both their skills–right now I have maxed out both their skill trees.
Now after the Sandman’s attack he warns the Spider-Men about someone coming and in the next scene we see the villain Kraven the hunter starting to head to New York to find his next big hunt.The reason he is doing this is because he has cancer and he wants to be finished by the toughest beast out there. While the Spider-Men are trying to find Kraven,Peter learns that Harry is back and has the symbiote which they don’t know is an alien.
During a fight with Kraven Peter gets fatally wounded and the symbiote attaches itself to Peter which introduces the new moves for your move set and the new ability surge. Eventually after some more story plots it comes down to Peter,Miles and MJ needing to take down Venom so they can save Harry and the world. Now with the story out of the way its time to talk about the game play.
Thanks to the Ps5 new controller when playing the game it kinda gives the feeling that you’re really Spider-Man and also the skills in this game are very fun to use.They still kept the web slinging as a main traversal asset but added one more thing which is the web wings that make you go faster while traveling.
Also the combat is so refine and just fun to play with.The best part in my opinion is the suits which they added new and old suits into the game from stuff like the movie suits for Peter and Miles to custom and comic book suits which also allows you to change the color for the suits.Overall I would give this game a 10/10- it’s just really fun and is a love letter to Spider-Man fans like me,currently I am going for the platinum trophy to 100% the game.
